Sana Floresta is an organic agroforestry project in Vale do Ribeira, Brazil, within the Atlantic Forest, one of the world’s most biodiverse ecosystems. Founded in 2018 on degraded pastureland, it has grown from 6 hectares to 20, hosting over 16 species of fruits and timber. Our scalable model promotes biodiversity, with at least 50% native species in each plantation. We cultivate organic bananas while expanding cacao and juçara production in our agroforests. Large-scale plantings create new wildlife habitats, aiding local ecosystem recovery. We also work with native stingless bees, vital pollinators threatened by pesticide use. Their presence supports biodiversity, healthy forests, and sustainable agriculture.
